Afraid a membership to a reverse cell phone directory costs too much? What if you were able to use it to make money – maybe start your own business. Some of you have the skills to do just that.

There are some people who are just really good at finding information. Maybe you are one of those people. You can find anything on the internet, you know where to go when you have a question, you understand how to put pieces together to come up with an answer. You are a seeker.

There are a number of jobs for people with these skills but one I know of can be done from home with a little practice and the need for these skills is growing in light of the economy, increasing home foreclosures, and a rise in delinquent debt.

Reverse Mobile Lookup Report

Here’s what a reverse mobile lookup report looks like from an online directory called Reverse Mobile.  If you’ve never seen one before, they’re loaded with interesting information about the phone numbers you want to find out more about.

Reverse Mobile Lookup Report

I had been using Reverse Phone Detective but recently scoped out a competitive reverse phone lookup directory called Reverse Mobile. They have been in business for years, too, but offer an expanded amount of information in their database. With a specialty in the cellular industry and experience in background checks, their database offers much more information than I had been used to seeing in the other product.

Reverse Mobile’s database is easy to use, their site is user friendly, and they offer a wide variety of people search products and services. In fact, their database is detailed enough to work for regular folks who just want to know who is calling them to those who use reverse lookup directories for professional purposes such as for skip tracing or tracking down people as a private investigator.

Free Cell Phone Reverse Directory

Several reverse phone services will often provide searchers free, basic detail when you reverse a cell phone number. Submit the cell number you want to reverse to a cell phone reverse directory and get the city location of the place the phone was issued, a printable map of the location and a visual of the person’s residence.

Not too long ago, a group of lobbyists pushed back on permitting cellular carriers like AT&T to produce a a free book of wireless numbers in addition to addresses and names so that they could preserve the privacy of individuals. Due to the fact that consumers incur a fee for any minute spent on cellular phones, subscribers did not want to end up paying for generic calls or calls from complete strangers.

The rules put in place to insulate residents do not obstruct companies outside of the wireless carrier industry from buying and collecting personal information they can get from public records and telemarketing lists in order to build databases that share owner info in a free cell phone reverse directory. Because they have to incur expenses to obtain the more detailed info, they don’t give too much for free but it can be enough for some people. To see more than the basics, like the name of the cell telephone owner, you will need to pay something for a phone report.

You can get some information about a cell phone number for free. It’s only basic information, but it might be all you need. Anything more than that will cost you but a check of the free information about a cell phone number is a good place to start.

To see only the basic info in a free cell phone reverse directory, use only a reputable reverse cell phone directory on the web. Most of these directories show a search field that requires you to type in the wireless phone number you want to reverse. Enter the cell information in the field highlighted and submit the box. You should then see a basic review of the the cell phone owner – the city where the wireless account was first registered and a high level city map. On top of this, you may also get an example of the additional variety of info in their records for the mobile phone search. The expense for getting the more personal info about the wireless number should also be revealed after you’ve completed the look at the information the free cell phone reverse directory shows about the phone number.

Find a Person by Cell Phone Number

Quickly find a person by cell phone number online and get their name, address and personal information without them even knowing you looked up their records.

If all you have is a cell phone number and you want to know the identity of the person who owns that number, you can do different types of searches to get some interesting personal details about somebody online with a reverse cell phone lookup directory.

Don’t Need to Know Their Name?

Basic Search – Free Reverse Phone Information
If you don’t need the person’s name or address, just the basic geographic location of where the phone number was issued, you can use a reverse cell phone directory for free to get the following information:

  • Confirmation that the number is a cell phone and not a land line number
  • The city in which the cell phone was issued

You don’t have to pay anything for this basic information. To find a person by cell phone number without getting their name and address, just type the cell phone number into the reverse directory’s search box and see the free information.

Need a Name and Address for a Cell Phone Number?

Cell Reverse Phone Lookup Report
By law, cell phone numbers, names, and associated addresses cannot be published publicly without wireless carriers arranging for opt-in approval from every customer. They have chosen not to do so for privacy reasons. Therefore, the only way to get the name and address information on a cell phone is to order a full reverse cell phone lookup report from a reverse phone lookup directory. These reports give a lot of detailed information, such as:

Who Does This Number Belong To? Find Out Fast!

Have you ever had reason to wonder “who does this phone number belong to”?  Maybe the same number is showing up repeatedly on your home phone or cell phone but the caller never leaves a message.  Perhaps you notice a phone number that doesn’t seem familiar showing up several times a month on your cell phone bill.

There are many reasons we might want to know who a phone number belongs to.  Harassing phone calls, a cheating spouse, or unknown numbers on our kids’ cell phones are all reasons for concern.

Reverse directories provide answers to those questions.  A reverse directory is the opposite of the old white pages we used to use for finding telephone numbers.  To use the white pages, you had a name but needed a phone number.  All of the information was listed alphabetically by name and you could easily find the number of a person or business you wanted to call.

Reverse Phone Detective Review

Reverse Phone Detective is a reverse phone lookup service that offers more information than competitors and claims to be able to provide reverse cell phone information, too. I decided to put them to the test and conduct my own review.

In a previous job, I was required to work with reverse directories to help find people for my employer.  Often, we had a phone number on record from someone who had called in to our office, but not the name associated with that phone number.

My job was to use reverse directories that offer a reverse phone lookup in order to find the name that was tied to that phone number.  This was back before Google – in fact, back when the only such directories were available in book subscription form.  These directories were outdated as quickly as the books arrived at the office.  Now, we have the world wide web and a wealth of data at our disposal.  The advent of the internet makes reverse phone lookups more accessible and more accurate than ever before.

It is cell phones that pose today’s challenge. While landline phone and address information may be readily available even through a Google search, cell phone records are not widely distributed and doing a reverse cell phone lookup will often get you no information at all through Google or free lookup services.
